Leaves alternate, 3-lobed, softly hairy, strong smell when crushed. Petioles lack glands. Flowers to 5 cm diameter, subtended by 3 fringed bracts covered in sticky hairs. Petals white to purple, 3 styles. Fruit yellowish, surrounded by the bracts and bracteoles.
