Turneraceae

Turnera, named after William Turner (d. 1568) author of a New Herball. Chiefly herbs or shrubs; leaves, simple, alterate, often with a pair of floral nectaries at the base of the leaf blade. Flowers regular 5-merous, petals fused, clawed, usually yellow. Carpels 3, ovary unilocular; fruit a capsule.
